Campers are welcome to arrive Sunday, June 21 between 1:00pm and 2:00pm. At check-in, campers will be checked for temperature and lice to stay in compliance with Camp Standards, medications will be checked in by parents to the certified nurse on staff, parents and campers will see the cabin the campers will be in for the week, and families will have the opportunity to meet the counselors and fellow campers. Note: Mass will not be celebrated on the first day so campers will not be able to meet their Sunday Mass obligation after drop off.
Parents are invited to attend our final campfire on Friday, June 26th at 7:00pm. Campfire will begin punctually and last approximately one hour. During this campfire, parents will get the chance to see the highlights from the week, including camp songs, camp stories, and camper skits. Absolutely! We strive to provide a safe and comfortable experience for all campers throughout the week. We understand that for some young campers, this is their first or longest time away from home. If a reassuring phone call will help ease campers at night, they are welcome to ask Jan to call home. We do however, encourage all campers to immerse themselves in the camp experience, and that includes participating with their cabin during camp activities.

Campers are grouped by gender grade level and are supervised at all times by Safe Environment Certified counselors. Each group is supported by a senior (18+) and junior (16+) counselor who assist with daily activities and faith formation. In addition, there are trained adults at each activity to aid in safety and participation. Camp Lutherwald provides trained and certified lifeguards, rock wall instructors, and licensed food service staff. CYC also provides a Certified Nurse and several additional adult staff to help provide additional assistance as needed.
Yes. All camp staff and volunteers are Safe Environment certified and comply with all diocesan requirements.
All medications are administered according to the Medication Administration Permission Slip and diocesan guidelines. Medications are securely stored and distributed by a certified nurse on staff in the designated nursing station to provide privacy and discretion during the administration of first aid or regular medication.
Parents are required to complete a Health History and Physical Form so staff can properly care for campers with allergies or medical concerns. Please do not hesitate to provide any additional information that can help provide a safe and suitable experience for your camper. Accomodations can be made for campers as long as camp directors are informed of any needs ahead of time.
CYC is a Catholic camp rooted in the Holy Spirit, the sacraments, and Scripture. Campers of all backgrounds are welcome, but should be open to participating in Catholic prayer and activities. We have previously welcomed campers of different faith backgrounds in the past.
Campers enjoy a wide variety of activities including rock wall climbing, swimming, boating, fishing, archery, crafts, obstacle courses, music, and campfires—along with many other classic summer camp experiences.
Each day begins with the raising of the American flag, followed by Scripture and faith teaching led by Camp Director Dave Torma. Campers then enjoy a warm, hearty breakfast before heading into the morning’s structured activities.
Daily Mass is celebrated before lunch, after which campers are served another warm meal. Following lunch, campers have time for rest and cabin recreation before beginning the afternoon activities.
The day concludes as the camp comes together to lower the flag, share a well-deserved hot dinner, and gather for an evening campfire—bringing the day to a joyful and meaningful close.
Yes. Campers have structured activities as well as supervised free time to relax, build friendships, and enjoy camp life.
The cost per camper is $625, with additional siblings costing $600. This covers everything campers need for the entire week.
Limited assistance or scholarships may be available. Please contact Jan Torma (574)-707-3381 for more information.
